Commissioned work

I am currently taking orders for commissioned portraits for autumn 2024.

Sizes & Prizes

I offer various sizes for pastel portraits, the smallest starting at 30x40cm (11,8×15,7“) for around 400€. The most common size my clients choose is usually 40x50cm (15,7x 19,8”) for a single head portrait. The portrait of dear Chelsey on the right is 45x60cm (17,7×23,6″) for instance. There’s nearly no limit to the format you prefer, whatever suits your home or the subject best. I will of course happily advice on this, if you’re unsure.

The price increases with size, and is dependent on the amount of subjects and the complexity of the image – so usually I can only give a set quote once we have figured out more details (eg. only a head portrait, full body, or even both, multiple subject in one, some background arrangements etc.) – there’s a lot possible! In the end it really depends on your imagination. While discussing your wishes for the portrait I will of course always give you some advice and guidelines on what will look good, based on my artistic experience. If your budget is not that big, we can always figure something out. For example, I occasionally offer smaller portrait size – I want art to be affordable for as many people as possible and value my work at the same time.

Memorial portraits & reference pictures

Of course it is also greatly welcomed to commission a portrait of a beloved animal that has already passed – however if the reference pictures are not sufficent in quality, I sadly have to refrain from taking on the commission.

I usually paint from one or two reference pictures at the same time, to achieve the highest likeness of character, fur and color as possible. If you’re looking to order a bespoke pet portrait from me, simply send me a non-committal message with a rough outline of your wishes and at least 2-3 good quality pictures. They should be taken at eye level preferably and have good, even lighting (no sunset pictures or too dark/light ones, if it’s not the specific look you’re asking for).

The process

After we have discussed the final format and subject, I will send you an invoice of a 30% deposit up front, to secure your place in my booking list. The remaining price is due once the artwork is finished, before sending it off to you. I will take you along the process with pictures once in a a while. I ship worldwide, and the exact postage can be calculated once we have discussed the format. It is of course possible to have the artwork directly framed by me, so you can just unpack it and hang it on your wall. We can discuss this during the drawing process, but it is not mandatory. I will always send you an instruction sheet on artwork care guidelines with the portrait, so you know how to handle it.

I’m looking forward to your message!
